Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2025-08-08T23:46Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
Activity ID: 2025-08-08T23:46:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Likely the glancing blow arrival of CME: 2025-08-05T16:48Z, characterized by a rotation in magnetic field components, including Bz reaching approximately -14.8nT. Characterized by a decrease in temperature and no clear change in density during the CME's passage. Solar wind speeds decreased from approximately 560 km/s to approximately 480 km/s, and remained around 480 km/s until 2025-08-09T15:25Z. This CME arrival was combined with the arrival of a coronal hole high speed stream, with CIR starting at 2025-08-08T06:30Z, and coronal hole high speed stream onset starting at 2025-08-08T12:02Z.
